We have launched the collaboration with the German actor, artist, director and DJ Lars Eidinger on the 14th of January in Berlin. The edition of 250 pieces is almost sold out just a few are left. LE 1
The project received a lot of attention, positive and critical voices at the same time. We are grateful for the discourse. For us, the focus is on what Lars so aptly said in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
The bag is an homage to the important and contemporary work of Günter Fruhtrunk 1945 to 1982 and to the anonymous design of the Aldi-shopping bag, which has help so many people to carry their groceries from A to B. On the one hand, LE 1 relates to Fruhtrunk's work Progression, Etude I, 1964. On the other hand, it contributes to the worldwide plastic bag discussion, as LE 1 is made of mineral-tanned leather from Germany. Instead of a disposable product you get a longlife companion.
For us it is an appreciation of everyday life and to say with it Lars Eidinger's favorite quote from Hamlet: "For there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."
