Our German leather is produced CO2-neutrally. It is a beginning.
The German tannery we work with has been producing high-quality leather from the remains of meat and milk production since 1899.It is one of four tanneries in Germany that has been awarded the Gold standard by the Leather Working Group. It is also certified by ECO2L (energy controlled Leather), the world's first calculation and auditing model for energy efficiency and CO2 emissions for tanneries. On this basis, they invest in CO2 certificates that offset the emissions they produce. This supports, for example, a wind power project in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. In addition to reducing CO2 emissions, the project also contributes to improving the quality of life in the region through social engagement.
